Dilemma of an MBA aspirant

The sight of young men and women clad in black and white every morning I take a tempo to my college sends shivers down my spine. No, they are not criminals let loose. They are students pursuing MBA at NIEC. Since I'm a participant of this milling race, I can't count heads but the fact that an MBA is what every second graduate aspires to do cannot be discounted.

I shudder at the thought of being in these kids' shoes [or pre-Eastman wardrobe] someday. Allright, I'm pursuing B. Tech here. But I wonder, will mediocrity take over aspiration in the course of four years? Will I also be left amongst "I aim at crack CAT" junta? Does being at a low-rung college guarantee that I've nothing left to look forward?

Somewhere within myself, I know I'll discover the answers as time will unwrap itself. In my favour? Let's see!

well well well...
As far as salary is concerned you wont get more than 5.0 package after BTech. But after MBAs you wont get less that 10.0(of course from good colleges). And 90% of engineers turn out to be preparing for CAT. I am sure you would too. Its just a matter of time.. :)

to be or not to be.... :D

dis question bugs many ppl during deir tenure @ clg. but i m sure dat in due course of time, u will be clear upon what u WANT 2 do...

d call from d inside is more important dan d pressure from d outside, dats y i aint joining d "i wanna crack cat" gang....

good luck...

this question has already once been thrown at me by you sm time back..
as i then answered, being in NIEC or for that matter any Goddamned colg, dsnt affect u in anyway. Rather, being in an IP university college, u gt a wonderful chance to score high in ur grad, that actually helps to c u thru in CAT and other examinations.
CAT aims at segregating ppl who are likely to succeed in the corporate world as managers, and thus, it does not matter from which college u did ur grad...

n as Gautam said, "d call from d inside is more important dan d pressure from d outside" so jst listen to the soul that drives u rather than "just" being a part of the crowd...

Whoa!
i'm sure u're not the only one facin the problem! Ask those who have started preparin 4 CAT just after their class XII!! :O

Even i dont kno why ppl get attracted to MBA...CHARTERED ACCOUNTANCY is much better!! ;)
& i can prove it!! A frnd of mine has just finished his CA n he has got a job package of 60 lac p.a.!!
And u kno wat.. he rejected the job offer! :O
he was supposed to do the job in NIGERIA where the co. was even providing him reimbursements for 2 kidnappings apart from all extra perks!! :D
does that matter anywaz? :S

now..wat d'ya think...a CA or an MBA?? :p

Nope. There are better things than getting into the herd. Its mediocrity to jump into these professions just for the sake of "lpa" figures described by your friends. Trust me, if you have better aspirations, follow that single-mindedly. You won't regret that ever for the rest of your life! ;)
